Every month paintings, photography, sculpture and other creative crafts are displayed in the Helen Gould Room located directly off the main foyer, and in the Lower Lobby display cases. We are pleased to present the following exhibitions:
November: The art display this month is A Family Affair. The exhibit highlights the works of the Pecora Family. Lee Pecora, a clothing designer by trade, began to dabble in oils later in life. As painting became her passion, Lee continued to express herself and grow as an artist well into her 80's. Lee’s husband, Leonard Pecora, primarily built model ships; however, some of his earlier three-dimensional pictures are on display. Eldest son, Laurence Pecora, found his creative outlet in photography. Some of his pictures are also included in this family exhibit. An Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, November 3 from 3:00-4:30 pm in the Helen Gould Room.
December: Local Artist Pamela Thomson studied art at St. Martin’s School of Art in London, a part of London University. Since moving to New York and then Long Island, she has painted local landscapes, cottages, gardens and still life. In recent years, her paintings have been widely shown; her work is also in the permanent collection of the Hampton Bays Historical & Preservation Society and in many private collections. An Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, December 15 from 2:00-4:30 pm in the Helen Gould Room.
