Opening Reception:

Always, Gloria
Works by: Gloria Marie Hazard, Sharon Kay Chandler, Rachel Gloria Adams, & Zoe Marie Adams

Gloria Marie Hazard instilled a love of art and textiles that has carried through three generations. Gloria grew up in Harvard, Ma where she raised five children with her husband of 50 years, Carl Chandler. At age 60, she received her BA degree and it was then that she discovered her passion to paint. Gloria passed away in 1996 after an 18-year battle of breast cancer.

Gloria’s Daughter - Sharon Chandler Correnty returned to her home town of Harvard, Ma to share her life’s passion and teach art. Correnty earned her degree at UMass Dartmouth and majored in Art Ed with a minor specializing in jewelry, weaving and ceramics. She later earned her MA degree from Fitchburg State College where she focused on Creative Arts in Education. Correnty’s mastery and curiosity of materials led her to her thesis project focusing on Wool.

Sharon is currently living in Pepperell, MA with her husband Paul Correnty and is the art teacher of the town of Harvard.

Gloria’s Grand Daughter – Rachel Gloria Adams has a BFA in printmaking from the Maine College of Art with an emphasis on textile design. Rachel has worked as an arts organizer, curator and educator.  Rachel is currently Co-owner and project manager for sign and mural company Better Letter Hand Painted Signs based in Portland, Maine.

Rachel's floral arrangements are inspired by the birth month flowers of her newly expanded family. Rachel incorporates her floral arrangements with her geometric quilted patterns to create dynamic compositions.

Gloria’s Great Grand Daughter: Zoe Marie Adams turned 3 in January and will be sharing recent drawings and paintings using her favorite colors. She enjoys baking, drawing, and painting.

This family of artists celebrate memories of childhood and home through cloth, quilt, collage, embroidery and painting. The exhibit was sparked by realizing the value of knowing who you are and where you come from.
