Rani Arbo

Performing a 30 minute set starting around 8:30 pm.

Rani will appear solo, but for the last 17 years she’s well-known as the leader of the band Rani Arbo and Daisy Mayhem.  Rani brings authenticity and verve to her music and beyond that, a certain je ne sais quois.  After studying geology in college, she took up fiddle and fell for the rootsy sounds of old-time, Cajun, Honkytonk and bluegrass music.  She co-founded the bluegrass-folk band Salamander Crossing in 1991.  Rani brings a warm, inviting alto and swampy fiddle style, along with a rich life as a veteran performer, breast cancer survivor, mother, singer and songwriter.  Rani has toured and recorded with Joan Baez, John McCutcheon to name a few and has played nationwide at major festivals, large coffeehouses, and famous venues..
