As part of the library’s summer reading program local astronomer Alan Sheiness will be meeting participants at the Lyme Land Trust Dark Sky Observation Site (directions to the site will be distributed to registrants before the night of the event) with his telescopes at the ready so that kids and caregivers can get an up-close look at t number of fantastic stars, constellations, the Milky Way and various deep-sky objects in the dark night sky. Talk about going “beyond the beaten path”! Mr. Sheiness will be provided instruction and a number of other local astronomers will be present with their telescopes so that participants can move from one telescope to another to view a variety of objects in the sky.
