Mattapoisett Free Public Library hosts a discussion of Paul Cuffe: His Purpose, Partners and Properties
If the name Paul Cuffe is unfamiliar to you, the virtual library discussion with authors David Cole and Betty Slade about their work, Paul Cuffe: His Purpose, Partners and Properties will shine a light on this South Coast mariner, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Cuffe, a man born on Cuttyhunk Island in 1759 to a formerly enslaved West African father and Wampanoag mother, built a business empire that included shipping along the Atlantic coast and shipbuilding in Westport, Massachusetts. Join the Mattapoisett Free Public Library and moderator Corey Nuffer on Saturday, February 27th at 2 p.m. for a glimpse of this fascinating man from the eyes of Cole and Slade.
Register below to receive the Zoom link the day before the event. Zoom information will be sent the day before the presentation.
