“The most famous poet you never heard of,” Worcester poet Elizabeth Bishop was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book award, and the National Book Critics Circle award and many other awards. Lloyd Schwartz and Megan Marshall will discuss Bishop’s life and poetry.
Schwartz is a poet, a professor at University of Massachusetts Boston, a Pulitzer Prize winner and the author of Elizabeth Bishop: Prose, Poems, and Letters. He is currently the Poet Laureate of Somerville and a frequent contributor to NPR’s Fresh Air. Megan Marshall is a Professor of English at Emerson College, a Pulitzer Prize winner and the author of the biography Elizabeth Bishop: A Miracle for Breakfast.
