Event: Celebrate International Observe the Moon Night

Saturday October 28, 2017
1:30 PM

International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) is a worldwide, public celebration of lunar science and exploration held annually since 2010. One day each year, everyone on Earth is invited to observe and learn about the moon together, and to celebrate the cultural and personal connections we all have with Earth¹s nearest neighbor.

Welcome NASA Solar System Ambassador Scott Negley at 1:30 PM for an all-ages talk on everything lunar - from why the moon is so special, to the amazing astronauts that have explored our nearest space neighbor!

Drop by the Kid's Room before or after the talk to participate in fun space-themed activities, and make sure you bring your Lunar Observing Log (available in person at the library or on our website or Facebook page throughout the month of October) to receive a special prize for your efforts (all ages)!

Ready? Set. Observe! Take your new knowledge home and spend the evening in the yard or just looking out your window. Enjoy the moon that evening on your own, wherever you may be, knowing you are doing so with folks all over the world!
