Set in Poland, in the midst of World War II, this film tells the story of innocent, naive eight-year-old Bruno who ignores his parents' warnings and sets off on an adventure in the woods. He comes across a high fence that separates him from the people in a camp. He meets a boy his own age who is wearing striped pajamas, and a surprising friendship develops - with dire consequences.
