Andover B.A.R.K.S
Saturday March 2, 2013
10:30 AM until 10:45 AM
Join us for this new program organized by student Matt Jacobs from Phillips Academy. BARKS stands for Books and Reading for Kids and yes, participants will read aloud to a real dog. The dogs will be trained therapy dogs and will be accompanied by their owner. Each child will sign up for a 15 minute time slot so space is very limited. The benefits to reading to a dog are: pressure free, non-judgmental environment; kids gain confidence and improve their reading skills; kids learn to enjoy reading. This program is for K-grade 3 and participants must register online for a specific time slot. Times available will be 9:30-9:45am; 9:45am-10am; 10am-10:15am; 10:15-10:30am; 10:30-10:45am; and 10:45-11am. Questions please contact Beth Kerrigan (bkerrigan@mhl.org).
