Does your teen need help understanding the basics or importance of savings and credit? In this three-part series, join Sue Katz, an expert from American Consumer Credit Counseling, who will work with teens to build their financial literacy. Ask questions and get answers about how to build credit, the importance of saving, and how to develop good spending habits.

In the third workshop, we will focus on Understanding Credit. Learn why it is so important to build and protect your credit, and how it can impact your finances in the future. Register and receive two handouts that will be used during the series.

Questions and participation welcome. Geared to teens; parents/adults and older tweens welcome. (Students, please do not sign up with your school email.)

Sue has been working for American Consumer credit counseling since 2009. She is a Certified Personal Financial Counselor / Educator, and a Military Housing Specialist, who has over 40 years’ experience in personal, corporate and small business finance. Outside of her responsibilities at ACCC Sue is also a small business owner and has the understanding of how the economy and proper budgeting can affect one’s business and personal finances. As an outreach coordinator/ educator her main focus is reaching out to the military, and the community at large. Sue is on the ISFAC’s sub-committee for financial resources. And is Mass financial educational Committee’s, Military task force lead, along with being the recipient of several awards for her work with many organizations such as Compass working Capital, Sue also has been involved with 1st time home buying classes for CTI Lowell, Lynne Housing, Worcester Neighbor works and others. In 2016 Sue also became a board member of the newly formed MyVA Community Veteran Engagement Board and works with the regional Community Action Committees for veterans across the state. She also is a core speaker For the Yellow Ribbon Program. On November 9, 2018 Sue was elected as a board member for the Veterans Business Organization Association.

Sue follows ACCC’s goal to empower consumers to regain control over the quality of their lives through financial education, counseling, and debt management. ACCC is a non-profit organization that serves consumers through education, budget counseling, housing counseling and bankruptcy counseling.

On August 2 2017 Sue was awarded the Department of the Army’s Public Service Commendation Medal at the Edith Nourse Rogers VA in Bedford Ma. On August 18 2018 Sue Received The Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award at the National Guard Family Programs Awards Banquet.
