Tuesday November 5, 2019
7:00 PM until 8:30 PM

History Professor Christoph Strobel of U.Mass, Lowell, will give a one-hour talk this evening in celebration of Native American Month.  He will tell us all about his upcoming research and soon-to-be-published book called Beyond the Mayflower: Native Americans in New England.    Professor Strobel is widely published about the topic of global/comparative/transnational history, Native American history and African history.  He teaches several courses at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, such as "Native American History," "The Modern World Since 1400," "The Nonwestern World Since 1945," and "Sub-Saharan Africa."   He has published many papers and books on many related historical topics and has a Ph.D. in History and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Please come join Christoph for an interesting look at what life in America is like for Native peoples today, how history has evolved to change their experience and New England's native peoples throughout time.  This is the first of a couple of programs related to indigenous peoples happening during November at our library.  This program is kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library.
