Armchair Travel: 'Round the World Journey in PhotographsThursday November 5, 2020
7:00 PM until 8:00 PM
Bob Sinicrope, jazz teacher and musician, and Frances Scanlon, graphic designer and photographer, love to travel and have been fortunate to have visited 30 countries. In 2018 they fulfilled a lifelong dream in undertaking a 'Round the World (9-week) journey during Bob's Milton Academy sabbatical. Bob and Frances explored 10 countries and had a wide and remarkable variety of cultural experiences and personal interactions. Bob was able to share his musical skills to connect with locals in many of the countries and Frances utilized her passion for and skills as a photographer to chronicle their trip. Their "Bob and Frances Journey website" (bobandfrancesjourney.com) wonderfully captures the scope and depth of their travels to Morroco, South Africa, Maldives, Bali (Indonesia), Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, China and Japan. They will share highlights and stories about their experiences via Zoom.
Bob says: "Join us as we share our journey of a lifetime climbing aboard the Marrakesh Express, crashing a Balinese wedding, volunteering in a South African township, touring Viet Cong Caves, traversing the Great Wall of China, experiencing Hiroshima, indulging in Okonomiyaki with countless other adventures as we circumnavigate the globe!"
Bob is in his 48th year of teaching jazz at Milton Academy and in workshops throughout the U.S. and in several countries. He is and has been an active performer for nearly 60 years. His wife Frances is a 35-year career graphic designer and photographer. Please join them for an enjoyable look at what they learned and saw during this incredible journey!
Advance registration is required and signup opens on October 15th here; a Zoom connection link will be Emailed to you on the day of the program. This program is kindly sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library and is free and open to the public.
