Family concert with the Squeezbox Stompers
Saturday September 29, 2012
2:00 PM until 3:15 PM
Come join us for a very fun and animated family concert with the group, "The Squeezebox Stompers." Accordian player Raph Tufo leads a fun quartet of musicians who perform Cajun and Zydeco music in the spirit of New Orleans. Their sound includes swing, swamp rock, blues, zudeco, cajun, a bit of country, jigs, reels, jazz and a smidge of rock 'n roll. They play an eclectic and breezy mix of rootsy music - a combination of old and new tunes. All are veterans of the local music scene and have crossed paths musically over the past three decades. Ralph Tufo has 4 Boston Music Awards to his credit, from his previous work with the well known Boston group "The Boogaloo Swamis," and Larry Pitt is the 2007 winner of the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest. Come bring your dancing shoes and enjoy a performance appropriate for all ages, which is like taking a walk through the streets of the French Quarter! Refreshments will be served, and the Keys Community Room is located on the lower level of the library. This event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library.
