Library Trustee Orientation [Sharon]

6:30 PM until 8:00 PM
This orientation is not just for new trustees! If you are a seasoned trustee with ideas to share, or someone who wants a refresher about the roles and responsibilities of your job, we welcome you to this workshop. Library Directors are also welcome to register.
As a trustee, you have taken on two big jobs! The first is to serve as a tireless advocate for your library, working to help it become "bigger and better". The second job is to learn about your library, about your community and its needs, about the laws and state programs affecting your library, about other libraries, and about the issues facing libraries today. Cindy Roach, Head of Library Advisory and Development at the MBLC, and Mary King, Advisor at the MLS, will introduce you to the roles of trustees, library directors and friends and will describe some resources to help you in your role as library trustee.
There will be time for questions and discussion. If you have specific issues you wish addressed, please send them to Mary in advance.
