Incorporated Library Directors Roundtable [Palmer]

Incorporated libraries are private institutions serving a public purpose. They may have different configurations for governing boards, ownership of the building, and financial and procedural relationships with the town or city. Personnel often do not fall under local Personnel Bylaws, and library funding may consist of both local and private money.
Many situations arise that are unique to incorporated libraries, particularly with to respect to legal issues, building maintenance, budgeting etc. This roundtable will give you an opportunity to meet with other library directors whose libraries function as the public library for the town and may be primarily supported by the town but which may deal with special situations because of their incorporated status.
Join us to share information and to ask questions. April Mazza, Trustee/Friends Information Specialist, will be attending from the MA Board of Library Commissioners, and Mary King, Advisor at MLS, will facilitate.
