Event: Who Are Your Folks and Where Did They Come From?

Saturday February 24, 2018
9:00 AM until 3:30 PM

An Alabama Bicentennial Celebration Event

The Tristan de Luna Chapter, Alabama Society Daughters of the American Revolution invite the public to a Genealogy Seminar with special guest, Elizabeth Crabtree Wells.

Participants are encouraged to bring their basic family chart or information to help facilitate questions and discussions on how to proceed in their family research. Sign in and coffee available beginning at 9 a.m., with the first session starting at 9:30 a.m.  We will break for lunch from 12:15 – 1 p.m.

Session 1: Alabama's state birthday is December 1819 so let’s look at pioneers who came, who stayed, who moved on, the records they left, and where to find these people and records.
Session 2: Alabama growing up as a state. Statehood caused growing pains, more people, a few disagreements (wars), and additional records to search.
Session 3: Alabama – The modern state, looking at records then and now.
Session 4: The people I can’t seem to find. How do I search and where can they be? Individual problems and records that may help in the search.

Registration is required. Fee for the workshop is $35.00, which includes handouts and a box lunch for each participant. Make checks payable to Tristan de Luna Chapter NSDAR. Mail checks and registration information (name, address, email & telephone number) to Susan Crowson, Genealogy Seminar, 1219 Elmira Street, Mobile, AL 36604-2347. Checks must be received no later than February 17.

For more information on the workshop, please contact Susan Crowson at 251-438-4739 or email shcrowson@bellsouth.net.
