Beginning in 1973, then Library Director Jack Livingstone brought jazz musicians to the library to play for the Monmouth County community, so that this great American musical art form would be available – at no cost – to all people.
Join us as Mr. Livingstone brings us on a ‘sentimental journey’ through some of the stories of music and the photos of his Jazz at the Library’s walk down memory lane. His belief that music and the arts (along with books and people) belong in libraries has never wavered. Hear about his love affair with the jazz music and musicians that he has shared – for over 45 years – with the residents of Monmouth County.
Entrance doors open at 12:30 pm. Seats are available on a first come, first-serve basis. We request that participants do not hold or reserve seats for others. Library staff reserves a number of seats for a limited time for family/friends of performers.
