The NTL is offering 3 classes on Smartphone Photography taught by Peter Falabella. Come to one or come to all, and learn about how to maximize the photos you are already taking every day! Please register online for each workshop individually.
Tuesday, January 30, 2018, 6-8pm: Smartphone Photography
This two hour class will cover the basics of using the camera on your Apple or Android smartphone, using the built-in editing tools to enhance photos, and how to best use cloud storage. Publishing to social media sites like Facebook and Instagram will also be covered. Practice on participants’ phones will be part of the session.
Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 6-8pm : Intro to Lightroom I
Lightroom has become the go-to software program for managing, editing, and enhancing images. In this first of two, 2-hour sessions the basics of managing your photos in Lightroom as well as using its tools to crop and remove unwanted details will be covered. If possible, participants should bring a laptop loaded with Adobe Lightroom to class. A free 30 day trial is available for download at:

Tuesday, February 13, 2018, 6-8pm: Intro to Lightroom II
In this second of two, 2-hour sessions, the basic edit tools such as exposure, clarity, and vibrance will be covered as well as the use of presets or filters to change the “look” of photos to one of many popular styles. The second half of the session will be devoted to application of the tools to participants’ own images.
A life-long photographer, Peter Falabella brings a background in teaching and computers to his photography sessions. He currently teaches photography and editing software at Newburyport Adult and Community Education and SEE Shore Photography also in Newburyport
