As part of the Ready to Read at New York Libraries initiative, the New York State Library is sponsoring the following free webinar on the new early literacy training resource, “Raising the Bar – Self-Paced Version,” for library staff and others who work with young children both in libraries and in the community:

In this webinar, participants will learn more about New York Public Library’s new self-paced version of their early literacy training resource, “Raising the Bar.” Raising the Bar is a four-part training series that hopes to connect early childhood development to public librarianship and was previously only available as a train-the-trainer resource. This free training expands on our train-the-trainer materials to offer a comprehensive self-guided individual learning experience. Developed for librarians of all experience levels this self-paced training can be completed at any time and in any place.

The 4 module training series focuses on foundational knowledge about Early Literacy in public libraries, storytime strategies for children’s specialists, promoting family literacy and engagement, and partnering with early childhood programs in the community. Come join us and learn more about this new resource!
