Everything You Need to Know about Writing and Publishing a Children’s Book*

Do you have a children’s book you’d like to publish? Find out the best ways to write it and get it out to the children who’d love to read it! Join authors Judy Press and Sam Smith to learn about the intricacies of both the craft and the business of children’s book publishing.

About the presenters:

Judy Press is the author of 20 published books for children, including the award-winning art activity book, THE LITTLE HANDS ART BOOK. Judy teaches art and writing in Pittsburgh area retirement communities and has presented numerous teacher seminars, school visits, library workshops and book signings throughout the country.

Sam Smith is a freelance writer and children’s book author. Her first picture book, CATE’S MAGIC GARDEN, celebrates the power of positivity. Sam has served on the SCBWI PA WEST Leadership Team, participates in two writing critique groups, co-chairs the Lincoln Elementary School Read-A-Thon and is the Marketing Director for the MLSA (Mt.
