** Presenter: Carrie Thurston, M.Ed.CSS Consulting (Maine). With over 25 years in education as a classroom teacher, special educator, and Director of Pupil Services, Carrie Thurston is well known for her ability to engage the most challenging learner. After years working in this capacity she found herself raising a child with unique needs. It is these experiences that cultivated the determination to create school structures that reach all learners by supporting the teachers who serve them. Carrie has designed a model of RtI Restructure which has resulted in remarkable literacy outcomes for schools, typically with 90% of students reaching literacy proficiency and growth standards within one year. Currently, she partners with schools throughout southern and coastal Maine as well as Massachusetts (e.g., Mashpee, Wareham).
