Tuesday at 2: Apalachicola River and Bay-A Connected Ecosystem

Tuesday February 4, 2020
2:00 PM until 3:00 PM

Gibby Conrad, Environmental Specialist and educator at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve

Gibby Conrad worked on the development of Apalachicola River and Bay-A Connected Ecosystem, a 12-minute film about Apalachicola Bay.  During this presentation, attendees will view the film about this vital resource to our region and following the film Conrad will discuss the content and answer questions. This is a critical time for the Appalachicola River and Bay with threats coming from many directions, including oil drilling and the upcoming court case over water usage that Florida and Georgia are arguing before the U.S. Supreme Court. Gibby Conrad has been working for the Reserve for 5+ years and has been involved in environmental education in the area for more than 20 years.
