Opa! It’s all Greek to me! with Kathleen Kaldis
Thursday July 18 | 6 - 8 PM | Hilton Garden Room

Kathleen Kaldis has been piecing together her husband’s first generation Greek genealogy, knowing only his grandparents names. It is a challenge to find the right resources to tap into that great patchwork of knowledge. Without reading or speaking Greek, finding the correct resources is key. Kathleen will share her experience and resources, along with anecdotes and findings.

Kathleen Kaldis fell in love with genealogy at a young age, she is a professional genealogist known as The Ancestor Finder. Her interest in genealogy started when she heard stories about how her great great-grandfather, who was born on Cape Breton Island, came to Boston to build Fenway Park. She is currently a Genealogist at the Massachusetts Mayflower Society, and used to work as a Genealogist at NEHGS in Boston. Kathleen holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University, and has successfully completed many genealogical institute courses though the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG) and the International Society for British Genealogy and Family History (ISBGFH). Kathleen is very active within the genealogical community serving in many leadership positions within many organizations. She is the Vice President of the Massachusetts Genealogical Council and the Vice President of the Middlesex Chapter of the Massachusetts Society of Genealogists. A proud member of the Lexington DAR and the soon to be the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. As a lecturer her enthusiasm will show through as she shares her passion of genealogy with the audience.
