Under the Midnight Sun by Keigo Higashino (2016, 554 pages).  An epic whodunit featuring an intricate plot that spans two decades, with unflappable and indefatigable Osaka homicide detective Sasagaki on the unsolved (and unsolvable?) case.   

Murder by the Book takes place on the first Thursday of the month - January through November.
