Poetry By Heart led by Andrew LevineSaturday March 16, 2019
10:00 AM until 11:30 AM
The Ridgefield Library will offer a new eight-part series called Poetry by Heart led by musician, educator, theater producer, and poetry lover Andrew Levine, for four weeks, every other Saturday starting on February 2 and then four weeks, every other Saturday starting on March 23.
This program is for anyone who has the desire to know a poem by heart and share it with others in an intimate and non-intimidating setting.
“We will form a community of those that love poems spoken aloud and love the inquiry into the very individual and particular poems that have the power to move us, comfort us and challenge us,” said Levine.
Attendees should come to each session with a poem they already know or with one that that they would like to learn by heart.
Levine is currently the managing director of the Sheen Center for Thought and Culture in New York City. Earlier in his career he was a practicing musician and music director for the theater, and an educator at the Savannah College of Art and Design and the Hartt School.
Please register for the first session to be registered for all eight sessions.
