The AM Book Group meets the fourth Wednesday of the month (except December)  

Villette by Charlotte Brontë (1853; app. 658 pages). After an unspecified family disaster, a self-reliant young girl travels from her native England to the fictional French-speaking city of Villette to teach at a girls' school, where she is drawn into adventure and romance – as well as gothic-style encounters with a nun who may be the ghost of a woman put to death for breaking her vow of chastity.
