Question 1 Panel Discussion

Monday September 17, 2018
6:30 PM until 8:00 PM

The Scarborough Public Library will present a panel discussion on the Question 1 referendum on Monday, September 17, 2018 beginning at 6:30 pm. Question 1 on the November 6 statewide ballot will ask voters if they wish to support an act to establish Universal Home Care for Seniors and persons with disabilities. The final wording will be: “Do you want to create the Universal Home Care Program to provide home-based assistance to people with disabilities and senior citizens, regardless of income, funded by a new 3.8 percent tax on individuals and families with Maine wage and adjusted gross income above the amount subject to Social Security taxes, which is $128,400 in 2018?” Both opposing and supportive points of view will be represented on the panel. Join in this important conversation and become more informed on LD 1864. As with all Library programming, the event is free to attend and open to the public.
