Write Your Own Memoir as Children's BookThursday January 10, 2019
2:00 PM until 3:30 PM
SESSION 1
Children's books are a great way to try your hand at writing--and a powerful means of recording precious memories. Many authors have already done so, like Patricia Polacco and Laura Ingalls Wilder. In this session (1), we'll look at some examples of this type of writing, Then, we'll brainstorm for our own ideas, and begin rough drafts of our stories. Each participant will draft their own memoir/children's book.
(Session 2, and Session 3 if necessary, will give time for feedback from other class participants, editing help if desired, and refining our drafts. How you "publish" is up to you, but in this day and age there are many ways to combine text and images through print shops, online photo printing services, etc.)
NOTE: This class will require at least some writing done outside of meeting time, on the participant's own time.)
