A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax resist method where the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.
Experienced pysanky decorators from St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Carnegie will give us the background about this tradition that has been around for cenrturies..Participants will be using beeswax and dyes to turn a regular chicken egg into a beautiful piece of art.
Each person who registers will make and take home a pysanka.
