Ages 3.5 - 7

Story Time Chess is a curriculum paid for by the library to teach preschool and kindergarten age children the game of chess through silly stories. The stories introduce planning and strategies through silly stories designed to help children remember basic techniques for play. Each lesson begins with about 5 minutes of review, then 10-20 minutes of stories and the remainder of time is for play. 

Advanced Beginners is for children who are confident with piece movement and can use more skills with planning, strategy, and chess sportsmanship.
