Antony and Cleopatra
Considered one of Shakespeare’s most moving works, Antony and Cleopatra concerns the tragic and epic love affair between Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt, and Mark Antony, one of the three leaders of Rome during the time of the Roman Republic. Many scholars consider Cleopatra to be one among Shakespeare’s most fully developed and complex female characters.
