Holly Beck, the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator for Hartford Healthcare at Home, will talk about the history of hospice care and dispel common myths about it. Volunteers in hospice care are an important part of providing emotional and spiritual support to the individuals in it.
Ms. Beck will review the requirements for volunteers and different training options. Volunteers visit patients at home and in nursing facilities. They are needed to read to patients, provide a listening ear, play music, and visit with certified pet therapy teams.
If you have an interest in learning more about hospice care or are interested in becoming part of the hospice team this presentation will be very informative. All are welcome to attend.
