SOLDIERS AND SAILORS FOOTLOCKER KIDS PROGRAM
Monday September 17, 2018
7:00 PM until 8:00 PM
Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum is one of Pittsburgh’s most well known landmarks and treasures. Through personally donated artifacts and mementos, the museum offers a unique look into American Military history by telling the stories of individuals who served our county from Civil War through present day.
The South Park Library is lucky enough to have the Soldiers and Sailors Museum visit us. This program is aimed at educating people of all ages. A staff member or trained volunteer will bring a footlocker full of unique military artifacts from the museum’s collection. The presentation topic will be a compare and contrast of war times...what was back then and what is present day. They will also focus on a soldier’s life in the war including the equipment they carried and the experiences they went through. Stories about the sacrifices of local veterans are also included in the presentation. This is a great for way for your audience to experience history and share stories and memories from the past.
This is a great, educational program for the whole family!
Please be sure to register everyone (parents too) attending the program.
