FRAMEWORKS/CONNECT SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING PROGRAM

The Frameworks/Connect Project increases the competence and confidence of individuals and school communities to respond to suicide events. Designated as a national “Best Practice” Program, Frameworks/Connect was developed in NH and is operated by NAMI NH. The Frameworks/Connect suicide prevention training program focuses on teaching school community members how to:
• Recognize – youth at risk of suicide;
• Connect – with the youth;
• Connect – the youth to a qualified health care provider who can assess risk; and
• Connect – the school community to work together on community risk and protective factors and to reduce youth suicide.
With school based trainings, we encourage all staff, including administrative, transportation, support, custodial, etc. be involved to maximize the benefit of the training in the school. These training might also be extended to community members (law enforcement, first responders, etc.) who work closely with the school directly or through a coalition. Priority will be given to SAU 16 employees until March 1. After March 1, registrations will be accepted for faculty from all districts at the cost of $75. per person. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. For those out of district who will be registering, a check or PO should be made payable to ERCSD-SPDC.
