Native Plant Trust, the nation’s first plant conservation organization, will offer a plant conservation lecture at the Springfield Library. The program, entitled, “Plant Communities of Massachusetts,” will provide an overview of the extraordinary diversity of native plant communities in the state, with example plants and environmental features. The goal is to raise awareness and appreciation of the area’s habitats, to educate about plant communities’ current status, and to encourage ways to conserve local natural resources. This program has piloted as a webinar, with successful engagement. Springfield Library’s program will be part of a larger state-wide initiative called the Plant Conservation Lecture Series, which will offer the program through libraries in several towns throughout Massachusetts.
This is a non-library sponsored event.
