Science Experiment: The Power of Mentos!

Tuesday, July 28 at 10:30 am on zoom

(Grade 2 and up with a parent)

Ever tried the Mentos and soda experiment? Prepare to get messy! You'll need to be outside for this experiment. Join Suffield High science teacher, Joe Grimard, as we learn why Mentos react so strongly to carbonated beverages. Mr. Grimard will give us a demonstration, you get to try the experiment, and we'll talk about the science behind it all. The library will provide some of the supplies. This zoom program will be 30-45 minutes. Thank you for your time, Mr. Grimard! Supplies sponsored by the Friends of Kent Memorial Library.

Supplies: you will need two liter-sized bottles of soda (or other carbonated beverage in a bottle with a neck), a roll of Mentos, 3/4 inch tube (made with paper to fit over the opening to the soda bottle), two strong magnets, string

YOU CAN GET THESE SUPPLIES AT THE LIBRARY THROUGH CURBSIDE PICK-UP:
