Please join us for an interactive book discussion with New York Times bestselling author Alka Joshi on Thursday, April 15 @ 7pm via Zoom as part of our brand new "Books & Beyond" series.

Alka's debut novel "The Henna Artist" is inspired by her mother, and is a compelling story set in India in the 1950s. Seventeen year old Lakshmi runs away from her abusive husband and makes a living as a henna artist to the wealthy women of Jaipur. 

"The Henna Artist" has been translated into 23 languages, was chosen as one of Reese Witherspoon's book club books, and is currently being made into a TV adaptation starring Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire actress)
