Book Club for grades 2 & 3
Tuesday April 2, 2013
3:45 PM until 4:45 PM
For today's grade 2 & 3 Book Club, we're reading a book that has an interesting view of life in the 1920's, which is when the adult novel "The Great Gatsby" takes place. Today's book is "Rebecca and Ana" by Jacqueline Dembar Greene, published by American Girl. It has an interesting and warm hearted look at immigrant life in 1920's New York City.
You can get a copy from our Book Club shelf or reserve a copy from Old Colony Library Network. We'll chat about it, and play a game. Snacks provided. All kids in grades 2 & 3 are welcome, even if you haven't finished the book! We meet in the Children's Room. The kids will pick the title for May . The club meets one Tuesday afternoon a month at 3:45. Come for Book Fun!!! This month's club will meet in the back of the Program room as usual, depending on what time the previous meeting ends.
This event is a part of the library's One Braintree, One Book program. This year's book is The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The goal of this program is to encourage the community to read the same book and share in discussions about the book's themes and to enjoy programming that helps bring the book to life!
Location: Logan Auditorium - upper level Click here to go to the Thayer Public Library calendar.
