Library Poetry Tour: Lea C. Deschenes

The Shawna Foundation's Library Poetry Tour returns for its 2024 season! April's featured poet is Lea C. Deschenes. This event will be held in the Library Auditorium on the top floor of the library.

Lea C. Deschenes is the author of "The Constant Velocity of Trains" and the editor of "Knocking at the Door: Approaching the Other" from Write Bloody Press. She was a co-founder of Damfino Press and is the fastest poetry book layout in the East. A long-time Worcesterite and veteran of the poetry scene, her work has appeared online, on stage, and in print. She holds an MFA in Poetry from New England College.

The Shawna E. Shea Memorial Foundation, Inc is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit who believes the arts and education are essential to creating a vibrant, healthy community and world. The mission of the Shawna Foundation is to equitably promote and support students through scholarship and showcase artists in filmmaking, performance arts, poetry and other creative endeavors with a focus on underrepresented communities.

The program is financed in part by the Milford Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
