Gentle Floor Yoga

The "Gentle Floor Yoga" series, featuring yoga instructor Linda Evans, will be offered for six sessions on Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. on 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, 10/4, 10/18, and 10/25/21 in the recreational room at Ventress Memorial Library.  An optional fee of $5 per class is requested and registration is encouraged but not required, as space is limited. All levels of yoga students are welcome.  Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat to the classes.

Following is a class description for Gentle Floor Yoga:

Sessions are 60 minutes and will be done on the floor. Chairs will be available for any student who needs one. Through floor work, seated and standing postures students will learn basic yoga poses (asanas) and breathing techniques (pranayama). All classes will include gentle stretching, balance and mild core work.  Linda will offer ways to modify the poses to make them more accessible for the students’ needs.  Class will end with a “yogic nap” known as Savasana, which is a time for the students to rest and relax, as well as a brief meditation.
