The Middle Years Parenting Workshop - Session #4Thursday December 3, 2020
8:30 PM until 9:30 PM
The Middle Years is a four-part, research-based parenting program that helps parents/caregivers with children from ages 5 – 10 enhance their parenting skills. This program will assist participants, who are experts on their families, in developing a deeper understanding of how their personal and parenting knowledge and behavior affects their children. This program will also include resources and information relevant to the impact of COVID-19 on parenting and children, including strategies to better manage challenges in the current school year for remote, hybrid or in-person learners. Additional topics will include strategies for managing parent and child stress, understanding parenting styles, raising responsible children with positive discipline strategies, and improving family communication and strengthening family relationships.
The sessions will be conducted in partnership with the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Albany County by Maria Delucia-Evans, a trained parent educator. Parents/caregivers may attend one, two, three, or all four of the workshop sessions. Participants who attend all four sessions will receive a certificate of completion.
These virtual sessions will be held via Zoom and are for parents/caregivers of children ages 5-10 (kindergarten-5th grade). Your elementary aged children are welcome to attend (virtually) if childcare is a concern. Please register for each session you would like to attend. A Zoom meeting link will be emailed to those who register prior to each session.
