Online Teen Wabi Sabi: Zen Arts and Meditative Drawing

Thursday August 6, 2020
11:00 AM until 12:30 PM

Wabi Sabi is a way of thinking about the world and art making that originated in 13th century Japan. It emphasizes the value of the incomplete, imperfect, and natural world. Participants will learn the practice of meditative drawing and haiku poetry. Meditative drawing improves our skills as illustrators AND has the added benefit of soothing anxiety. Haiku teaches observational skills and is a playful form of poetry.

Materials needed: black pen, pencil and paper.
