Keep Your Child Safe on the Internet
Tuesday January 22, 2013
7:00 PM until 8:30 PM
Learn how to recognize some of the dangerous behaviors children may do online and how to talk with your kids to create a safe surfing environment. Parents treat the Internet like a diary, only to be opened in case of trouble. But, the Internet is really a neighborhood, a place where children go to meet friends, hang out, listen to music and shop. Like any neighborhood, parents should know everyone their child meets. The question isn't whether or not to monitor, but how. Tony Loftis, founder of findyourmissingchild.org, and Victoria Kempf, an Internet safety advocate, will help parents extend their real-world parenting skills to the online environment. Location: Raytheon Room Click here to go to the Wayland Public Library calendar.
