Concert, An Afternoon of Mozart Trios
Sunday September 24, 2017
The Music Committee is thrilled to open its Fall Season in the Community Room with the Craft Ensemble, a string trio, who will present an all-Mozart performance. First on the program will be Mozart’s transcription of Bach’s preludes and fugues K. 404a, followed by his divertimento in E flat major K. 563. Cellist Velleda Miragias, who has engaged Library audiences for many years, will be joined by violinist Colleen Brannen and violist Amelia Hollander Ames. A French native, Ms. Miragias currently enjoys a diverse career as a freelance, solo, chamber, and orchestral musician, educator, and entrepreneur. Since moving to Boston in 1995, Ms. Brannen has maintained a distinguished and varied career as an orchestral and chamber musician. And Ms. Hollander Ames, who founded the New Jersey chamber music collective Con Vivo Music, has performed in many Boston and New England orchestras and ensembles since moving to the area in 2013. We are very fortunate to have these three talented musicians share their skills and artistic gifts with us, and we hope you will be able to join us for a stimulating and enjoyable afternoon. The concert is free and open to the public, and the Community Room is handicapped accessible.
