This lecture will consider how images of slavery, ethnic diversity, and exoticism were used to reinforce European concepts of self, superiority, and control. 

Presented by Olivia Scarpa, an Assistant Professor of Art History at Manchester Community College. Olivia holds a M.A. in the History of Art from Yale University and a B.A in History and Art History from Tufts University.
