Commemorate Memorial Day with two Vietnam Veterans.
Robert Lombardo was a Combat Medic in Vietnam in 1968, Americal Division 11th Brigade in Duc Pho, then assigned to a hospital in Chu Lai. He was awarded 5 Purple Hearts. Currently he is an Adjunct Professor at Quinnipiac University, teaching Radiography classes in the Diagnostic Imaging Program. He is also a volunteer consultant with the Connecticut Medical Examiner's Office.
Charles McNair was an Operating Room Technician in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, tasked with receiving wounded directly from the battlefield. He is the author of "Soldiers of a Foreign War," which tells readers exactly what happened after a wounded soldier was brought in by the Combat Medics. Dr. McNair recently retired after 35 years in local practice in internal medicine. Copies of his book will be available for purchase.
