< VIRTUAL & IN-PERSON MEETING >*
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
In a small Puritan community, a woman has a baby but her husband has been away for years. She is forced to wear a bright red "A" to publicize her disgrace as an adulteress. When her jealous husband returns, he becomes obsessed with finding out who fathered the baby. Hawthorne's story of punishment and reconciliation explores the concepts of sin, guilt and pride.
