Safety is essential for everyone, but the need for a comprehensive safety plan is especially important for people living with Alzheimer's or other dementias. Changes in judgment, sense of time and place, behavior, physical ability, and senses may affect safety. Taking measures to improve safety can prevent injuries and help a person living with dementia feel at ease and maintain his or her independence longer. The program will include safety at home, wandering and getting lost, and driving and dementia.
