Central Fiction Book Club Wednesday November 11, 2020
2:00 PM until 3:30 PM
This month’s selection is the critically acclaimed Circe by Madeline Miller. The Guardian notes that Miller does a great job of being able to “re-present the classics from the perspective of the women involved in them, and to do so in a way that makes these age-old texts thrum with contemporary relevance. If you read this book expecting a masterpiece to rival the originals, you’ll be disappointed; Circe is, instead, a romp, an airy delight, a novel to be gobbled greedily in a single sitting.”
The Whitby Central Library Afternoon Fiction Book Club meets on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 2 pm. These meetings will be run online for the time being. Video login details will be sent to you via email.
There will be a copy of each month's selection available for the first 12 registrants. Waitlisted registrants who have read the book are welcome to attend the meeting.
You will be contacted by a staff member regarding your copy of the book and arranging for pick-up.
