Whether you have conditions such as diabetes, arthritis, high blood pressure, heart disease, chronic pain, or anxiety, we can help you take charge of a better and healthier life.
It’s time to treat yourself to a new you. Sign up now!
**Each session includes a luncheon and break.**
More Information: The “Better Choices, Better Health” program helps adults manage the symptoms of chronic diseases such as arthritis, heart disease, stroke, asthma, lung disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, and other conditions. Developed by Stanford University, this evidence-based program is held weekly for 2 ½ hours for six weeks.
The workshop sessions are taught by trained and certified peer leaders, many of whom also have chronic conditions. This creates an environment of mutual support, which builds participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their health and lead active lives.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
· Employ techniques to deal with isolation, frustration, fatigue, and pain
· Practice suitable exercises for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance
· Use medications appropriately
· Communicate effectively with family, friends, and health professionals
· Apply healthy eating and nutrition tips to their diet
